Planning a trip to the heart of the Colombian Caribbean is on many travelers' wish lists, but it's not always clear which route to take, how much time to invest, or which means of transport to choose. Information on how to get to Mompox from major cities is scarce, and finding it is the first step to getting your trip started.

Karakalí Hotel Boutique accompanies you on this journey with routes and tips that will show you how to get to Mompox from Bogotá and Barranquilla. Because when you know where to start, the journey also becomes part of the charm.

Where is Mompox?

In the department of Bolívar, on the banks of the Magdalena River, Mompox is a destination where time seems to stand still. Although it's close to Magangué, El Banco, and Cartagena, its charm lies in its remoteness from the modern world. Surrounded by swamps and ancient trees, Mompox offers tranquility, beauty, and a living memory. Every corner invites you to pause, as if the place itself whispers to you that there's no reason to hurry.
